10 States Looking to Put an End to Daylight Savings

10 states are gathering to decide whether or not Daylight Savings should be practiced in the future.

Lawmakers in the these ten states claim that they want to form a new legislation that will set one specific time to operate on, and stick to that time throughout the year, so no one has to deal with switching their clocks twice a year.

The practice of daylight savings started back in 1966 where every state in the continental United States would change their clocks in order to make sure they save daylight during the changing season.

Texas State Rep. Dan Flynn opposes the idea of daylight savings, and is working on making it so Texas will permanently run on Central Standard Time. According to Fox News.com he states, “Every time you have the spring forward or fall back, you get in the coffee shops, churches and everybody’s complaining about it and all of a sudden it dawned on me it is kind of a hassle.”

The truth of the matter is most people throughout the country are unaware why daylight savings occurs, and agree with the lawmakers trying to put an end to the practice, but many people just change their clocks twice a year and do not worry about the subject besides those two days.

Some people do enjoy when spring time comes along, and they perceive the days to be longer because of the longer lasting sunlight, and it makes them feel that warmer days are just around the corner after the have survived the winter season.

These lawmakers will decide what is best for their personal states, and the rest of the country will join them in removing daylight savings if they choose to do so as well.
