Former Patriots football star, Aaron Hernandez, was found guilty, and charged with life in prison with no possibility of parole.
“They got it wrong,” Hernandez states after the verdict, who initially shook his head, and said “no” when the jury found him guilty of first degree murder of Odin Lloyd, and for possessing an illegal firearm and ammunition.
Hernandez, 25, ended such a potential football career, and many citizens wonder why someone who makes 40 million dollars a year would ever risk his career, and such a great thing for associating themselves with such behaviors, and wonder why they would ever put themselves in such a predicament.
While Hernandez still stands by the fact that he did not do it, Lloyd’s mother shared her remorse and sorrow stating, “Odin was my only son. Odin was the man of the house. Odin was his sisters’ keeper. After my daughter Olivia had her daughter, Odin became her keeper, too.”
Ursula Ward, Odin’s mother could not even look at Hernandez during the trial, and went on to say,
“I thank God every second for every day I spent with my son. The day I laid my son Odin to rest, I think my heart stopped beating for a moment. I felt like I wanted to go in that hole with my son Odin.”
However, she did go on to say that forgiveness is not something that she has ruled out stating,
“I forgive the hands of the people that had a hand in my son’s murder, either before or after. And I pray and hope that someday, everyone up there will forgive them also.”
Lloyd was Hernandez’s long-term friend, future brother in law, and former marijuana dealer.
