Many business savvy individuals maintain the opinion that Africa is where the next set of big time entrepreneurs will rise from, and the Africa Startup Cup is out to accelerate that prediction. Taking place in Accra, Ghana from April 28th to April 30th, this is the first of a hopefully long run of Africa summits. It is worth noting that while this is the first Africa StartUp Cup summit, Ghana was actually home to a previous StartUp Cup, which was one of the first international StartUp Cup summits.
This summit is a joint effort between the StartUp Cup Summit organization and the U.S. Department of State, and is expected to house over 500 domestic and international delegates from just about every industry out there. Tickets are available to both exhibitors and the public.
The event is set to have several entrepreneurial experts set up to give panels and speeches, as well as plenty of time for networking with investors, governments, business leaders and leaders interested in Africa’s growth. Also at the event will be a competition of African citizens who will pitch their business plans to an international panel of judges, with the 3 best pitches being invited to Silicon Valley for the Worldwide StartUp Cup summit, with the potential of great prizes and mentoring.
Expect to see more news from this event both as we get closer to the dates, as well as during the summit.
