McIlroy, who was in tears after Europe’s defeat in 2021, shed tears of joy this time and confidently predicted more success for Europe at Bethpage Black in two years’ time. He emphasized the significance of winning an away Ryder Cup and declared that Europe will achieve that at Bethpage. Europe’s last victory in the United States was in 2012, known as the ‘Miracle at Medinah,’ where they overcame a significant deficit. McIlroy praised the young players in Europe’s team and expressed pride in being a part of the team.
