Alexander Zverev beats Rafael Nadal in ATP final opener

Rafael Nadal refuses to make any excuse for his loss. The defending champion Alexander Zverev has thoroughly outplayed him. He is a top scored Spaniard with lots of victories in his list. But he has recently lost ATP finals opener to the champion Alexander Zverev. But he preferred not to give any excuse. He had a serious abdominal problem, which forced him to step back from the Paris Masters semifinals just nine days earlier. He had also faced hand injury. But he did not make all these as the reasons for his loss. But critics are guessing that his recent marriage could be an important factor in his sub-par performance.

Was Nadal not good enough?

Nadal said that he was not good enough on that day. In the previous five years, we have never seen Nadal loses to Zverev. But recently, in ATP’s final opening, Nadal was comprehensively outplayed by Zverev. Since September, he had not completed a tournament such as the US open from Shanghai due to his left-hand injury and left Paris semifinals due to abdominal issues. He started serving ‘very slowly’ on Thursday. In the first set of the fifth game, he was utterly broken and delivering a routine forehand. He lost the next five games. Young 22 years old Zverev was highly productive and played outstandingly without a single breakpoint in the entire game. Nineteen times grand slam champion Nadal refused to blame his physical injury for his defeat. He said that the physical issues are not an excuse at all, but the only reason is that he was not good enough that day. According to him, what matters is that now he needs to play far better in these two days. And it is the only thing that can rescue. It is going to be very tough.

Tsitsipas refused to go for dinner together

Tsitsipas is the youngest tennis player in the setting and had lost five matches with US open runner up Medvedev. Since Miami last year, these two have had a complicated relationship over a net. Tsitsipas mentioned Russian playing style ‘boring’ after a defeat in the previous month at Shanghai Masters. But these two are the most highly rated players in the setting. But somehow Tsitsipas is marked as the more aggressive in a tournament that contained just one service break. Beating Medvedev means something extra to him. He said that it means more than extra to him. He also said that he was in search of this victory for a long time, and he achieved that in a great moment. He also added that their chemistry maybe not the best in the set, yet it is unique as it does not happen to everyone.

He concluded that he does not hate him, yet he does not want to go to dinner together. Here an evident rivalry is exposed. But that has not solved even after a victory!
