Apple Watch In-Store Retail Sales Begin in Two Weeks

Apple product lovers can rejoice and prepare themselves for the inevitably long wait on line; in just two weeks, the Apple Watch will be available to purchase in Apple Stores across the globe.

Apple has also decided to expand the product to seven new countries; Italy, Spain, Mexico, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Switzerland starting on June 26th.

The wearable has been on the company’s website for purchase since April 10th, and as a result they have had to deal with massive back orders on the popular product. However, Jeff Williams, Apple’s senior vice president of operations, recently explained that orders for the Apple Watch made through the online store during the month of May will “ship to customers within two weeks.” However, there is one exception to this statement; the 42 mm Space Black Stainless Steel with Space Black Link Bracelet model. Anyone who ordered this version of the product will unfortunately have to wait another five to six weeks.

To run the Apple Watch, customers require an iPhone 5, or newer version, for the applications and notifications to be sent through properly. This product does not run cheap, starting at $349 for the most modest model- an aluminum case with a sport band. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the 18-karat gold edition can be purchased at $17,000.

The Apple Watch fits 130-200mm wrists and has an adjustable clasp. Currently, there are twenty different models that customers can choose from. The Apple website states that, “The case is crafted from a refined 316L stainless steel that’s been cold forged, making it up to 80 percent harder. It’s less susceptible to nicks and corrosion and has a beautiful mirror finish.”

The introduction of Apple’s first wearable is likely to have a large impact on the world’s fast paced, technology-filled society, as it is the most personal product on Apple’s market. Apple is the trendsetter of the technology world, and it is expected that the Apple Watch will not disappoint the public with its new features.
