Mets Game Ends in Most Mets Way Imaginable

Posted on: 21 Aug 2018

The New York Mets dropped an extra innings game to the San Francisco Giants on Monday night, losing by the score of 2-1. The story here really is not about the game itself at all. This game doesn’t even matter. The Giants are pretty bad and the Mets are worse. The results of this game are inconsequential. That being said, it’s really funny to look at the play that gave San Francisco the lead. Here’s the play. I suggest turning the volume on, but that’s up to you. Dom Smith.…

Andrew McCutchen Could Be Traded Soon

Posted on: 21 Aug 2018

San Francisco Giants outfielder Andrew McCutchen could be traded soon, as the organization has placed him on revocable trade waivers this week. According to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic, there is a “very good chance” that the Giants will move the 31-year-old by the end of the week. The struggling Giants are not really in the playoff picture, despite technically being within striking distance of the second wild-card slot. As such, it would behoove the team to move McCutchen’s expiring contract in order to get some sort of return. McCutchen…

Kopech, the No. 2 overall prospect in the White Sox system according to MLB.com, was acquired by Chicago in the Chris Sale trade with the Boston Red Sox. He was a 2014 first round pick of the Red Sox, and he was the 33rd overall pick. He has pitched 24 games in Triple-A this year, throwing 126.1 innings and working a 3.70 ERA. His ERA is up from last year’s Triple-A…

The former wide receiver for the New York Giants, Victor Cruz, has officially retired from the NFL. He will soon join ESPN as an NFL analyst. Cruz, 31, totaled 4549 yards over 70 career games. He made the Pro Bowl in 2012 and won Super Bowl XLVIII with the Giants, accumulating 269 total yards in four playoff games. Cruz was limited to playing in just six games in 2014 after he tore his patellar tendon. He missed the next season as well due to a calf injury. Cruz was born…

Austin Romine Banged Up

Posted on: 20 Aug 2018

New York Yankees backup catcher Austin Romine took a four ball off of the bottom of his face mask in the Yankees’ game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday. Romine seemed alright, just a little rattled initially, and he stayed in the game for a while before being replaced by Kyle Higashioka in the sixth inning. I don’t understand how Romine was able to stay in the game for any duration after that hit. He looked like all of the wind was knocked out of him and like he…
