Tuesday afternoon, a man drove a rental truck down a bike path, plowing down anything and anyone in his way, killing 8 and injuring nearly a dozen more. The attack is the deadliest terrorist incident in NYC since 9/11, just over 16 years ago. Over a month after Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, its residents now have something else to fear—outbreaks of waterborne disease. Health professionals now fear the worst, as waterborne illnesses are rapidly on the rise. On Tuesday, the death toll due to the storm and its aftermath rose to 51. Busiest national parks could see steep rise in 2018 entrance fees

The National Park Service has proposed a sharp increase peak-season entrance fees to 17 of the nation’s busiest national parks for next year, including popular tourist sites like Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon. The announcement follows President Trump’s plan for severe budget cuts of nearly $1.5 billion to the U.S. Department of Interior earlier this year.
