On Thursday, October 15, a six-months-old baby girl was thrown out of an apartment building window in the Bronx, New York, causing her death.
The mother of the girl, Tenisha Fearon, 27, was in the apartment with her three other children when the tragedy happened. The other kids weren’t injured but were taken to a hospital, reports the police. The other children, a 3-year-old-girl, an 8-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy were all naked during the riot, as was the mother.
“I was yelling, ‘Hurry up’,” says one of the neighbors from the building, Gregorio Lopez, as he told a woman to call 911. “I thought she was going to throw the rest.”
It all started when the police got a 911 call about how Fearon was dangling the baby out the apartment window. A neighbor, Lizette Rodriguez, said the mother had been shouting “I am going to throw her. We’re all going to die,” while other neighbors had been trying to calm her down and abort her mission by calling, “Don’t do it.”
While Rodriguez was calling the police, she says she heard the baby hit the ground.
Gregorio Lopez stated that he heard a commotion in the hall and the voice of a man yelling, “Please, God. Please help us.” Lopez went to the roof when the man left and saw into Fearon’s apartment.
“I saw her naked and the three kids naked and I thought they were all dead. And then she jumps up and starts hitting the window,” Lopez says.
In September 2015, a newborn baby girl was found dead outside an apartment building in the borough, where her mother had thrown her to her death from a seventh-story window almost immediately after giving birth to the baby. In August 2015, a woman was arrested in Queens after throwing her 1-month-old son out of a fourth-floor window. The Queens woman claimed that her son was possessed by an evil spirit and that she was trying to stop the pain by throwing him out of the window and to his death.
Tenisha Fearon was taken to a hospital for an evaluation. Her state remains unknown and no charges have been filed yet.
