Popular singer Barry Manilow, who rose to fame in the 1970’s and 80’s by singing such popular songs such as “Mandy” and “The Copa Cabana,” has married his longtime manager Garry Kief.
According to a source who spoke to People Magazine, the two’s wedding was kept private, and was held at his private residence with just 20 to 30 people in attendance, sometime last year.
Not a lot of people were let in on the loop, and some friends claimed “It was a surprise.”
The friends and family who did attend the wedding did not even know they were going to be attending a wedding that day because Manilow and Kief invited them to what they thought was going to be a casual lunch.
Manilow and Kief never signed any official documentation that says they were married, but a source has claimed that they “are committed to one another and have been for a very long time,” and that the two “have a great relationship. Garry has always been there for Barry.”
Manilow has always been flamboyant and has never been afraid to show his colors, but there was never any assurance that the singer was officially gay, but Manilow claims that he has never tried to hide who he was and his sexual orientation.
The source continued the piece by saying, “He’s at a point now where he’s got his career and personal life in a great place and he really doesn’t care what people think,” and that Manilow is “in love and happy.”
