When class gets a little too boring or homework gets more confusing than beneficial, 20-somethings everywhere turn to their precious iPhones. Not a minute goes by when their hands aren’t caressing their (beautiful) lifelines. If they aren’t texting, Tweeting, Facebooking, Instagramming or checking Snapchat, they are most likely gaming. While the era of the sacred Gameboy has officially come to a close, iPhones have taken over the scene. For those game savvy, young adults who love to pass the time attempting to kill zombies or solve electronic puzzles (“One minute I’m about to beat this level”), the invention of iPhone games (in the form of apps) was a life changing moment. If you’re a gamer, then it’s time to check out these five iPhone games (chances are you’ll have at least two of them beat before you even finish reading).
1) Candy Crush
Candy crush is the ultimate iPhone game. Crushing similar candy pieces to move to the next level is almost as addicting as maxing out your dad’s AmEx (you have a problem). Once you start this game you won’t be able to stop. If you’re looking for a distraction, then you’ve downloaded the right app.
Two Dots is all about strategy. Beat the 200+ levels and wait for your next journey to begin. Who would have thought that matching up similar colored dots and escaping fire could be so entertaining?
3) Trivia Crack
If you’re looking to show off your immense brilliance, then Trivia Crack is the game for you. Challenge your friends, and answer as many trivia questions as you can. Who knew all that Jeopardy your grandma made you watch as a kid would pay off?
4) 2048
This number crunching games involves skill, and even a little bit of math. Combine squares with different numbers on them. Once you get to 2048 you’ve won; but keep going. Get those numbers as high as you can.
5) Words With Friends
Writers unite. This Scrabble-esque word game will make your mom extremely happy. Play your friends and family in class, at your brother’s basketball game or while walking your dog. Go for that triple word score; you’re years of reading will pay off here.
