Bronny James, the son of NBA legend LeBron James, is expected to make a comeback to basketball soon after experiencing a cardiac arrest last month, according to ESPN. The incident occurred on July 24 while the 18-year-old was training with the University of Southern California (USC) basketball team. He was subsequently hospitalized and placed in intensive care but was discharged three days later.
According to ESPN, follow-up evaluations have indicated that a congenital heart defect was the likely cause of James’ cardiac arrest. The family spokesperson stated that it is a significant defect in terms of both anatomy and function, but it can and will be treated. They expressed confidence in Bronny’s complete recovery and his return to the basketball court in the near future.
It is worth noting that Bronny James is the second USC player to experience cardiac arrest in the past year. Vince Iwuchukwu also collapsed during practice in July of the previous year due to heart failure but managed to make a comeback after six months.
