The Boston Bruins defeated the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 on Saturday, with Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak leading the way with three-point performances. Marchand scored goals in the second and third periods, while also recording an assist. Pastrnak contributed a goal and two assists. Morgan Geekie and Derek Forbort also contributed to the Bruins’ victory. Jeremy Swayman made 32 saves in net for Boston. Alex Laferriere and Carl Grundstrom scored for the Kings, with Cam Talbot taking the loss in goal. Anze Kopitar set a franchise record for the Kings by playing in his 1,297th career game. The Bruins opened the scoring with a power-play goal from Pastrnak, who has now scored in each of Boston’s first four games. Marchand has also recorded at least one point in each game. Los Angeles tied the game in the second period, but goals from Geekie and Marchand put the Bruins back in front. Marchand sealed the victory with his second goal of the game, and Grundstrom scored a late power-play goal for the Kings. Boston forward Jake DeBrusk did not play due to arriving late to a team meeting.
