A scientist from Irvine, California shot dead in front of his two daughters; a two-year-old and four-year-old. Tristan Beaudette, thirty-five years old, went camping in Malibu Creek State Park with his daughters. According to reports, he took the girls on the trip that way his wife could study for her board exam.
On Friday, Beaudette was fatally shot at night. Both girls and the father were in the tent when he was shot. Police say that somebody had shot him before five o’clock on Friday morning. The campground was almost full, yet no other incidents occurred. There are no leads on the homicide case.
Created on behalf of the Beaudette family, their GoFundMe page read,
They were about to embark on a new chapter in their lives. And then it was all taken away, by a fatal gunshot in the middle of the night, in front of his two young daughters. Not a second goes by that we aren’t grappling with the senselessness of this crime.”
Beaudette had a Ph.D. in chemistry from University of Berkeley, California, and worked for a pharmaceutical company. His wife and family planned to move to the Bay Area to start their new jobs.
CAMPSITE HOMICIDE LEADS TO THE SHUTDOWN OF 60 OTHER CAMPSITES
As of now, sixty campsites in the park will be closed until June 28th. Lt. Rodney Moore of the L.A County Sheriff’s office stated, “We are working this as a homicide at this point. We are gathering evidence … It will take some time.”
