Chelsea held to scoreless draw by battling Bournemouth

Chelsea’s attack failed to score for the second consecutive Premier League game as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. In their previous match, Chelsea lost 1-0 to Nottingham Forest. Despite dominating possession in the first half, Chelsea couldn’t find the back of the net. Nicolas Jackson hit the post in the 14th minute, and Conor Gallagher missed a great opportunity shortly after. Bournemouth had a rare chance in the first half, but Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez made a close-range save. In the second half, Raheem Sterling’s free kick hit the post and crossbar, and Levi Colwill scored from the rebound, but the goal was disallowed for offside. Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert provided an attacking boost as a substitute, and Philip Billing’s free kick was deflected wide. Dominic Solanke had a couple of chances for Bournemouth, but couldn’t convert. Chelsea came close to scoring late in the game, but Bournemouth’s goalkeeper made a brilliant save. The draw moves Bournemouth up to 15th place, while Chelsea expressed disappointment with the result. Bournemouth’s players believed they deserved to win, considering it their best game of the season so far.
