Sri Lanka’s Court of Appeal has overturned the decision made by sports minister Roshan Ranasinghe to dismiss the country’s cricket board. Ranasinghe had replaced the board with an interim committee following a disappointing World Cup campaign and amid protests calling for the resignation of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) officials. However, ousted SLC President Shammi Silva filed a petition against the dismissal and was granted a two-week stay order, with a full hearing to follow. The matter was also discussed in Sri Lanka’s parliament. Sri Lanka’s team will conclude their World Cup campaign against New Zealand on Thursday.
