Ezekiel Elliot, the No.4 overall pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2016 NFL Draft, has been accused of domestic assault by his ex-girlfriend. He has denied the allegation.
The former Ohio State running back was accused of assaulting her multiple times over the past, according to police reports filed on Monday in Columbus, Ohio. Elliot has not been arrested or charged with a crime.
The woman is identified as Tiffany Thompson. She told the police that Elliot assaulted her in a parked car early Friday morning. She then told the police in another report that she had pain in her right wrist and a red mark. She refused to take medical treatment.
The Cowboys have seen the police reports but did not respond with any feedback. The NFL will review Elliot’s case under the personal conduct policy.
There were four witnesses at the time including one who was sitting in the car at the time of the alleged incident. They told police that they did not see any assault occur.
Thompson also accused the running back of striking her “several times” and “leaving bruises on her arms” from Saturday to Wednesday according to another police report. Elliot told police that he never touched Thompson,20, in a “harmful manner.” Elliot stated that Thompson endured the bruises during a bar fight. She also posted Instagram photos Friday displaying bruises on her body and one of them tagged to Elliot. Her Instagram account was made private later Friday morning.
Thompson also told police that she lived with Elliot for three months. The Cowboys running back said he only paid for her rent and co-signed on her car.
Ezekiel Elliot’s father, Stacey Elliot, released a statement saying his son “has done nothing wrong.”
“The reported allegations and Internet postings regarding our son are completely false,” Stacey Elliot said. “Ezekiel has done nothing wrong. ”
Elliot rushed for more than 1,800 yards each in the past two seasons at Ohio State and scored 41 touchdowns over that duration.
