Which Daytime Talk Show Panel Do You Belong To?

With daytime television engrossed in talk shows, it is fun to examine whether or not we are watching the show that fits your interests the most. The main shows with female panels are “The Talk,” “The Real,” and the one that started it all—“The View.” By examining the hot topics of each show, you can see which panel you belong to.

“The Real,” consists of co-hosts Tamara Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Tamar Braxton, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne Bailon. Their wild props, games and interviews make “The Real’s,” target audience people who just want to have fun. They know how to make viewers feel like they are talking to their best friends. Hot topics address issues primarily with love, relationships, sex, culture, fashion and parenting. If you want to spend an hour hanging out with your best friends that will not hold back on their advice, then this is the show for you.

“The Talk,” covers similar topics, but with Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler and Julie Chen as co-hosts. This panel is extremely diverse, ethnic wise, with women from different backgrounds. They do not get into politics very often, but they still cover important current events and health issues in the news today. If you enjoy talking to women who can provide a worldly outlook on issues and advocate that beauty goes beyond appearance, then this is your panel.

“The View,” again, is the talk show that first called for a panel of women to provide their point of view on the latest hot topics in the news. “The View,” is very mature and co-hosts are not afraid to get into verbal altercations over the years. Most of the outbursts have revolved around major concerns in politics and the divide between the Democratic and Republican parties. The new cast consists of Whoopi Goldberg, Nicole Wallace, Rosie Pérez, and Rosie O’Donnell. If you enjoy having conversations about major issues today while standing your ground with your individual argument, then you should rally with the women of “The View.”

There is one thing that all of these talk shows have in comment and that is the strides they make for women to have a voice on daytime television. But if you are in the mood to watch one instead of the other, consider what each one has to offer you. Whether it is speaking with your opinionated best friends, looking for a diverse perspective or hashing it out with respected colleagues, you can find which panel you can see yourself being a part of.
