Disney’s Best Film of 2015

You will be surprised to hear that so far Disney’s biggest success in movies this year is the fairytale Cinderella not the action packed Avengers: Age of Ultron that triumphed in movie sales.

Disney’s most recent film Tomorrowland did not receive great reviews nor did good on its box office sales; only making $32 out of the $41 million it was projected to make for the Friday through Monday weekend premiere.

But, the movie was not expected to be the company’s biggest blockbuster anyways. Yet, neither was Cinderella to most; the reasoning why, its originality to the Disney name.

Sure Cinderella only made a total of $526 million worldwide compared to the $1.2 billion Avenger: Age of Ultron has made and is not even out of theaters yet. But Cinderella is a Disney classic, whereas Avengers came from Marvel, a well-established name that Disney purchased.

Same goes for anticipating Disney movies up and coming in 2015 like Star Wars. The movie is projected for high success and will make the little mouse company big bucks, but it already has the George Lucas/20th Century Fox name written on it, which will bring much of its sales.

What Disney has been doing to their famous animated films and transforming them into live-action movies is all the innovation of Disney and no one else.

With that being said Disney’s projected to be most successful film in 2015 is in fact Cinderella.

The majority of the movie’s reviews were positive and seem to be worth the $95 million it took to produce the film.

With more of their live action films, Disney is proving they can create hit box office blockbusters without the popular well-established names tied into them.

Though traditional Disney animated films will be missed and hopefully do not stop, their step-up is showing to be good competition or at least a good standing with its competitors, including the ones in its own circle.
