If anyone you’ve seen “This is the End,” then you’d know not to mess with Emma Watson. The young actress is furious after a group of men are claiming that they posses nude pictures of the actress and are threatening to release them to the public.
Watson expressed her anger towards the group because the group wanted to blackmail Watson after she was finished standing up for women’s rights last September at the United Nations.
Watson’s speech expressed gender equality and was aimed to help launch a new campaign called the “HeForShe” Campaign.
Watson is mainly angry at the situation because she knows that there are no pictures to be leaked because they are nonexistent. “I was raging, it made me so angry, I was like, this is why I have to be doing this. If anything, if they were trying to put me off it, it did the opposite,” stated Watson.
She expressed that this shows a huge sign of gender inequality stating, “I knew it was a hoax but I think a lot of people that were close to me knew gender equality was an issue but didn’t think it was that urgent, that it was a thing of the past.”
She went on to say, “And then when they saw that the minute I stood up talking about women’s rights I was immediately threatened, I think they were really shocked, my brother was particularly upset. This is a real thing that’s happening now, women are receiving threats.”
