As the elections continue, people are now looking to the first family for their thoughts and opinions on the current candidates. While President Obama has said much, not many speeches have been given by the First Lady. This news has changed over the past few days. According to CNN, Michelle Obama spoke out against Donald Trump at a rally. The news has everyone curious as to exactly what she said.
The rally took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. CNN released some quotes as well as footage of what Michelle Obama spoke on at the rally. She first spoke on the Trump campaign and its targets towards Barack Obama, his citizenship status, and his overall validity as President of the United States. Trump and some members of his team have since apologized for and belittling the President’s birthplace and his citizenship, but many, including the first lady, are not convinced by the apology.
“There are those who questioned for the past eight years whether my husband was even born in this country. And let me say hurtful, deceitful questions deliberately designed to undermine his presidency. Questions that cannot be blamed on others or swept under the rug by an insincere sentence uttered at a press conference.”
Michelle Obama also commented on the mental and emotional stability of Trump. CNN also showed that she stated that the erratic behavior and prejudiced comments Trump has made make him unfit for the presidency. Her comments were met with applause by her audience.
Elections are drawing near, and while many people are still undecided. important figures continue to speak out. The second debate is coming up and it to will be a chance for candidates to speak for themselves. The public must continue to focus and listen as they wait for election day.
