The third installment of the prequel X-Men movies will be in the 80’s! Recently, in an Instagram post from director Bryan Singer, he released what Jubilee and Jean Grey will look like in the film. Jubilee, played by Lana Condor, is wearing a yellow later jacket, bigger jeans and “Punky Brewster” style hair. Jubilee looks a lot like she did in the classic X-Men cartoon that aired in 1992. Alongside Condor is Sophie Turner, dressed in a stripped shirt, high waisted pants and hair styled in a body wave. Turner, known as Sansa Stark on the incredibly popular “Game of Thrones,” will be playing Jean Grey in the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse.”
Jubilee is a gymnast and orphan whose power is shot energy blasts. From past cartoons and cmic, it looks a lot like she can shoot fireworks out of her hands. Jean Grey, a little more famous, has telekinetic powers and telepathic powers.
The previous film, “X-Men: Days of Future’s Past,” mainly took place in the 70’s, and before that “X-Men: First Class” took place in the 60’s. The films show the origins of all the characters that make up the famous team, the X-Men. Singer has also released another picture of himself in front of the set, a theater showing “Return of the Jedi.” All the nostalgia feelings fans must feel!
Along with Jubilee and Jean Grey, Singer has also announced the arrival of more characters for the third movie. Cyclops, Scott Summers, will be making an appearance in the new upcoming movie, along with the future leader of the team Nightcrawler, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee; Psylocke, played by Olivia Munn; and Ange, played by Ben Hardy. “X-Men: Apocalypse” hits theaters May 27, 2016.
