Frenchman Dembele signs for Al-Ettifaq

French striker Moussa Dembele has joined Al-Ettifaq as a free agent after his contract expired at Olympique Lyonnais, according to the Saudi Pro League club. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed. The club welcomed Dembele to Al-Ettifaq on the messaging platform X. Dembele had a successful stint in the Scottish league with Celtic, winning back-to-back treble titles. He then joined Lyon in 2018 but had a disappointing loan spell at Atletico Madrid in the 2020-21 season. He returned to Lyon and made 172 appearances, scoring 70 goals. In addition to Dembele, Al-Ettifaq also signed Scotland defender Jack Hendry from Club Brugge. The Saudi Arabian Pro League has been attracting big names, with Cristiano Ronaldo joining Al-Nassr in December.
