Google has introduced Chimera Painter, a Web-based tool that allows you to generate Crypto zoological entities in an interface that looks like MS Paint.

The Chimera Painter has a reason for existing. The team was looking for new ways to accelerate the game’s creation, which is quite creative and fantastical.

Google introduced Google Assistant back in 2018. Now, this AI assistant will make the company even more popular. It is able to produce an image of, say, an owlbear on the hunt, which is quite attractive. It is perfect for creative artists looking for inspiration. Last year, Nvidia introduced a similar tool to produce photorealistic landscape images.

To achieve this goal, the team introduced a digital fantasy card game. In it, the players could combine the animals and make them fight. The main idea was that there are hundreds of animals in the game and each of them can be combined with the others. This makes way more combinations than any artist would expect.

In order to make an AI that can create arbitrary creatures, the team first trained animals by feeding them images of CG creatures and leveling their parts eyes, claws, front of the leg, etc.

Soon the agent could itself generate the plausible-looking animals from the user-generated assemblies of parts, painting in the skin, fur, and other features. It is a generative adversarial network or GAN, which means that there are two processes working as one. One produces the image whereas the other criticizes it. After that, the first takes feedback and generates again.

Most people think that Google lacks generosity. However, the tech giant has made the Painter available for everyone to play with.

To promote this product, Google said in a statement, “What can a person make by using machine learning as a toothbrush? The answer is that there are no limits whatsoever.”
