Taylor Swift’s plan of world dominance seems to be coming along just perfectly. Since her first self-titled album was released in 2006, she has taken the world by storm.
With six Grammys, ten Teen Choice Awards, and four American Music Awards, Swift has quickly become a music icon. Her latest album has been immensely successful, and the hum of her hit Blank Space can be heard from almost every car radio that passes by.
Swift, however, has had to endure some malicious comments about her extensive dating life. From Joe Jonas, to John Mayor, to Taylor Lautner, her songs about love have projected her personal intimacies to the public, and many have burned her for it. But every true Swiftie understands that living in the spotlight can’t be easy, and all the awards she’s won don’t lie. So here are five reasons why Taylor Swift is still perfect, no matter what anyone says.
1) She Wrote a Song About New York
The fact that Taylor Swift now occupies New York makes her even cooler. NYC is a place of dreams, and now there’s a Taylor Swift song to sing along to about the most amazing city in the U.S.? Life just couldn’t get any better.
2) She’s Drug Free
Swift is no Brittany Spears. Her humble upbringing (which just happens to be on a Christmas Tree farm) seems to have stuck with her. You’ll never see her in the tabloids drunk with a shaven head at 3 a.m. in the morning. She’s classy and friendly, and can put on a great performance.
3) She’s Friends With Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran’s music may be second only to Taylor Swift, and the fact that Taylor hangs out with everyone’s favorite red head makes her that much cooler. Maybe one day they’ll officially date. Taylor Sheeran. It has a nice ring to it.
4) She Writes Her Own Lyrics
While many artists have their lyrics written for them, Swift writes them all on her own. Her songs come from the heart, and the fact that she puts her feelings out there shows how honest and up front she is.
5) She’s Relatable
The greatest thing about Swift is that she sings the feelings of so many girls around the world. Listening to her music is similar to hearing the jumbled thoughts inside your head harmoniously organized. Despite her fame, she is still a normal girl who goes through the same heartbreak as everyone else. She connects to people, and her songs have spread joy and pleasure to individuals everywhere.
