The fashion world is all for Hillary Clinton as President. As soon as Clinton released her video announcing her presidential candidacy via YouTube on April 12th fashion icons filled Instagram’s news feed with the hashtag #Hillary2016.
With both the industry and Clinton sharing a liberal viewpoint, the outpour of pictures and support was understandable, if not expected.
In her video Clinton announces, “I’m getting ready to do something, too. I’m running for President. Every day, Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion, so you can do more than just get by — you can get ahead. And stay ahead. Because when families are strong, America is strong. So I’m hitting the road to earn your vote, because it’s your time. And I hope you’ll join me on this journey.”
Designers that took part consist of Parabal Gurung, writing on his Instagram post, “Eagerly awaiting 2016. Madame President, @HillaryClinton you are my champion. You have my vote.”

The CFDA President Stephen Kolb also took Instagram, posting a picture with Clinton and Diane von Furstenberg back in her 2008 campaign.
Of course the young women of the fashion industry such as, Lena Dunham, Audrey Gelman and Abbi Jacobson of “Broad City” joined in as well. Abbi Jacobson took it a step further by posting a picture with Clinton’s head cutout replacing her own.

Design Director Paul Mittleman of Adidas even showed his love as he wrote on Instagram, “Hillary Clinton for President. The right woman for the job. She has my [vote] and support. I think she will lead and represent us as well as she can, I believe.” Just with a minor grammar error in vote as “voke” he still got the point across.
The list and posts continue, with Clinton’s fashion supporters including womenswear designer Tanya Taylor, Vanity Fair’s Jessica Diehl and Michael Carl, blogger Nicolette Mason, and stylist Leith Clark.
I wonder how Hillary feels with all this instant support from the fashion industry.
