The main trailer for the third and final installment of The Hobbit trilogy has finally been released. Phew… finally!
The trailer for ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ was released Thursday and withholds everything a Tolkien fan dreams about. It all comes to an end, 5 films, 4 books and Peter Jackson finally departing the world of Middle Earth (am I the only one who isn’t OK with that?).
Finally we can get a glimpse of what Peter Jackson has decided to do with the final installment, which will be apart of it and of course, the conflicts.
In an interview with USA Today, Jackson gave a few hints as to such conflicts, “The fate of Middle-earth is not really going to swing one way or the other [in this film],” Jackson said. “But there’s a lot of characters we’ve introduced, and some of them we like and some of them who we feel empathy for are going to behave badly because they’re confronted with the ultimate test, which is massive wealth. And it brings out the worst in people.”
Jackson has stretched a simple tale into three movies and in order to do this he needed to add more characters, some of which he pulled from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy; “cough couch Legolas”.
According to Time, “They’ll all come together for a 45-minute battle scene that’s bound to get fans who yearned for the good old days of Return of the King after watching that endless barrel fighting scene in last year’s The Desolation of Smaug excited.”
