According to BBC News, a fire in a hospital in India has killed 19 people. The reports have people looking into what happened to cause the fire.
The news emerged on Monday night. BBC News reports that the fire started in the dialysis ward of a private facility known as SUM. The hospital is located in the city of Bhubaneswar in Odisha state. Officials are also stating that 19 people have been reported dead, and several more were reported injured. Most of the victims that died suffered from the smoke inhalation. BBC News is also reporting that some people were so frightened that staff and patients attempted to jump from windows of the building. Many more could have suffered from severe injuries if they had not been stopped by the police and firefighters that arrived on the scene. Several people who are suffering from injuries remain in critical condition. Because of this, the death toll for this incident could increase in the near future.
