Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams are reportedly set to star in New Line’s comedy film Game Night.
The new film is set to be produced by Bateman and James Garavente for Aggregate Films. Johnathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley will be the film’s executive producers. The duo previously worked together to produce 2015 comedy film Vacation.
John Fox and John Davis are also set to help produce the film for Davis Entertainment production studios. Goldstein and Daley have allegedly written the latest draft of Game Night’s screenplay.
Reportedly Game Night has been in development at New Line since 2013. Originally Mark Perez wrote the first draft of the script. The film follows several couples who gather for a regularly planned game night when something goes wrong.
Aggregate Films has allegedly been producing the new comedy since it was pitched to the studio. The production studio also brought in the producing duo Goldstein and Daley. Aggregate was also reportedly responsible for bringing Rachel McAdams on board to star.
Bateman has recently been brought on to star in Game Night. The actor is currently filming for Netflix drama series Ozark.
Bateman reportedly also serves as an executive producer for the Netflix show. He also has directed a few episodes of Ozark. The series is set to launch sometime this 2017 year.
Jason Bateman has recently starred in Paramount and DreamWorks comedy film Office Christmas Party.
Game Night is set to be McAdams first true comedy since 2005 hit film Wedding Crashers. Rachel McAdam’s was nominated for an Oscar for her role in 2015 film Spotlight. The actress is set to star in a period drama Disobedience with Rachel Weisz. The period film is currently in early stages of development.
Goldstein and Daley have previously worked together to write a script for Sony and Marvel’s Spiderman: Homecoming. The new superhero film is set to open this coming July.
