Many outlets say that discussions are underway to have the Jenna Ortega reprise her role in Tim Burton’s 1988 film.
Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha, a podcast, broke the story, then THR, Variety, and Deadline verified it.
According to rumors, Ortega will portray Lydia, the daughter of Winona Ryder’s role in the original Beetlejuice.
According to Deadline, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder will be back in their original roles for Burton’s Beetlejuice sequel.
For a long time, people have spoken about making a sequel to Beetlejuice. At one point, a film with the working title Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian was in production.
Earlier in 2022, Deadline claimed that Brad Pitt’s production business was working on a sequel. As reported by THR, production is hoping to begin in late May or early June.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Jenna Ortega and Burton, who created her massively successful Netflix series, will be reuniting for Beetlejuice 2.
The show was the breakout role of the 20-year-old actress’s career, which had already gotten off to a roaring start thanks to her appearances in The Fallout, X, and the Scream revival.
With Scream 6, currently in cinemas, she makes her triumphant comeback, and the film is expected to break box office records for a horror series.
And on March 11th, Ortega will host for the first time on Saturday Night Live.
