Kante set to become new owner of Belgian third division club

N’Golo Kante, who recently joined Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad, has made a deal to purchase Royal Excelsior Virton, a Belgian third division team. The ownership transfer from Flavio Becca will take place on July 1. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed by the club, which is located near the Luxembourg border. In a statement, the club expressed their happiness in handing over the club to Kante, praising his footballing and human qualities. Flavio is leaving the club in a good financial state, without any debts, and a new board of directors will be appointed soon.

Kante’s move to Al-Ittihad marks his departure from European club football, where he achieved success with Leicester City and Chelsea, winning the Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup. He was also a crucial member of France’s 2018 World Cup-winning team. Additionally, it has been reported that Kante’s deal with Al-Ittihad is valued at 100 million euros ($108.69 million) over two years.
