On Sunday December 21, 2014, a major altercation arose amongst players at the Giants and Rams game. The problem started when Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree tackled the Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham. Now you may be thinking well that a quintessential part of the game, well you are correct, but apparently there was trash talking amongst the players earlier in the game, and the tackling resulted in Ogletree falling out of bounds, and was taken a little more as a personal attack because of the prior events.
Problems really took a turn for the worse when Ogltree knocked Beckham to the floor by pushing his face down as he was trying to get up, and Beckham responded to the attack by kicking Ogletree. This event started an all out free for all between the two teams.
While it is understood that the players were protecting each others teammates, it is disgusting to think that there could be a lack of professionalism amongst these men who are being televised for the country to see.
The fight resulted in three players being ejected who were, Preston Parker and Damontre Moore of the Giants, and William Hayes of the Rams, not the players who initially started the fight which took place out of bounds from the field.
