Jimmy Page is considered a guitar “God” amongst the musical community. His ability as the lead guitar player of the acclaimed Led Zeppelin, as well as his solo works and other contributions, has shown us the musician is able to transcend so many different musical genres.
It’s a shame that many of this generation’s fans were unable to see for themselves the performance that this musician puts on for fans. Jimmy Page must understand his role as a musician and as an influencer, that is why he is getting ready to, as he put it, “warming up on the touchlines” for a live comeback.
Page told reporters that he is getting ready to get back up on the stage, when being asked about the 40th anniversary re-release of Led Zeppelin’s acclaimed album, “Physical Graffiti.”
Although Page is getting ready to hit the road again for touring, he dismissed any progress regarding the reunion of his former band, and says that all of that is being placed on hold at the moment.
Page tells Rolling Stone Magazine, “How it starts off is, you have to play guitar and get match-fit first. So currently I’m in the process of doing that – but I’m also in the process of doing this [reissue series] too. It’ll be closer to the end of the year rather than next month. I’m definitely warming up on the touchlines!”
In the Q&A held, Page continued to say, “What I’m doing is something that’s going to be quite different. It wouldn’t be anything that hopefully you’d imagine I would do.”
If Page is really getting ready for something that he has not done before, then this will give new fans an opportunity to see him perform, and give older fans the ability to hear how the musician has progressed over the years.
