If Paris is the place you have always wanted to visit or have visited, there are a few scenes that won’t fail to come to your mind. The Eiffel tower, the Louvre museum, crepes and red wine are amongst the many images that will come to your mind perhaps. However, one such image will unfortunately make you reminisce with sadness at its absence.

The infamous ‘love-lock bridge’ in Paris will cease to exist in the near future. The bridge, which is known for the tradition of having couples put a lock on the railings of the bridge to represent their everlasting love, will be no more.

The city’s council plan is going to dismantle the Pont des Arts Bridge because officials fear safety concerns. Couples who had put locks on the grilles of the bridge will now be taken down and replaced with Plexiglass.

The bridge that is over the Seine will have worker come over with bolt cutters to remove all of the padlocks that adorn the bridge. Officials now say that there is not any room left to put more locks on the bridge. The Plexiglass will be added so as to avoid anymore locks in the future. Apparently the locks were causing long term damage to the heritage structure and the practice hence has to be stopped.
