Marlins-Mets ppd. (field conditions); doubleheader Wednesday

The New York Mets’ home game against the Miami Marlins on September 27 was postponed due to unplayable field conditions caused by recent rainfall in the city. As a result, the teams will play a single-admission doubleheader on Wednesday, starting at 4:10 p.m. ET. The game that was supposed to take place on Tuesday was the first of a three-game series. While the Mets have been eliminated from postseason contention with a record of 71-85, the Marlins, with a record of 81-75, are still in the running for a National League wild-card berth. The pitching plans for Wednesday’s doubleheader have not been announced yet. Originally, Miami was going to start Braxton Garrett (9-6, 3.53 ERA) against the Mets’ Joey Lucchesi (3-0, 2.88 ERA) in a battle of left-handers.
