Although McDonald’s attempts to portray itself as a family friendly restaurant, one customer by the name of Sabrinah Fontelar was certainly not “lovin’ it” when an employee started physically throwing her around the room.

According to a witness, “the lady asked for a water cup and the supervisor shut down the soda machine because she wasn’t letting her get a free soda.”

This was when things got out of hand.

In footage of the incident, Fontelar can be seen instigating the employee, even hitting her with a tray before the brawl broke out.

The employee, who has been identified as Erika Chavolla, proceeded to punch Fontelar repeatedly. Chavolla began to pull Fontelar’s hair and throw her around like a rag doll.

It is possible that there is more to the story. After the heated encounter, Chavolla can be heard saying “My momma ain’t dead, you respect my momma,” leading us to believe that the customer said something about her mother to provoke her.

Whatever the case may be, this type of behavior in the workplace is unacceptable. There are many other ways to resolve a situation like this other than violence, but Chavolla let her emotions get the best of her.

Despite the severity of her actions, Chavolla is still employed by the fast-food chain. However, Brent Bohn, a McDonald’s owner and operator commented on the circumstances by stating:

“We do not condone the behavior depicted in this video, and are currently investigating.”
