It seems as if Paul Ryan’s competition has put himself into some hot water. The Daily Beast is reporting that Paul Nehlen has made some offensive comments that reveal his feelings about Muslims in the United States.
In an interview with Chicago AM’s 560, Nehlen states that he does not understand why Muslims were still in the United States. When the interviewer asked Nehlen whether or not he believed all Muslims should be deported, he replied, “I’m suggesting we have a discussion about it, that’s for sure.” Nehlen also refused to acknowledge that there is a constitutional issue with deporting people for their religion.

Nehlen and Ryan have been in fierce competition this election season. Ryan has reportedly refused to debate Nehlen. Ryan is the current Speaker of the House and was Mitt Romney’s running mate in the 2012 presidential election. Despite Nehlen’s comments and publicity, Ryan is pulling ahead in his campaign efforts. Redstate.com is also reporting that Ryan is leading in the polls right now by about 66%. The voters seem to be supporting him and what he can do to keep true to his promises.
Nehlen is a strong supporter of Donald Trump’s campaign. He supports some of the more radical ideas on his platform. This includes religious testing for cert ion people in the US and building a wall around the border of the country. Nehlen is also following in Trump’s footsteps and centering his campaign around foreign policy and immigration.
Elections are a serious time facing the United States. Voters must carefully listen to candidates and their beliefs to make sure they are violating the constitution. The people must also be sure that equality and safety will be ensured to all law abiding citizens so the country will stay a place where liberty and justice is promised to all.
