Wednesday, January 13, 2015 marks the release of the newest “Star Wars” comic book that is being released by Marvel Comics.
The comic series is written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by John Cassady.
Aaron has worked on some of Marvel’s biggest comic book titles, such as X-Men, Thor, The incredible Hulk, and the Avengers, just to name a few.
“I just want it to feel like Star Wars, the stuff that got me so excited when I was a kid first introduced into this universe. I want it to feel like we’re all going back to that moment, where we’re all falling in love with the same cast of characters all over again.” states Aaron, who wants readers to be able to recapture the beauty and mysticism of the galaxy far-far- away.
The comic is taking place right after the Battle of Yavin, which is set during George Lucas’s 1977 original film. It contains classic “Star Wars” characters; Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Chewbacca.
Many fans wished that a story bridging the gaps between all the films could be told, and with the newest Star Wars film coming out next year, this story is going to help set up more of a backstory for fans.
When asked how Aaron wanted to present the story to readers he stated, “I want to do it Marvel style, and Marvel style is to go for the biggest scenes, the biggest moments and the biggest characters you can grab.”
Comic fans are going to be flocking to their local comic stores to pick up one of the most anticipated comics of the year.
