The public eye and many governmental officials are talking about how Hilary Clinton’s use of a personal email account to handle official government business was unprofessional during her time as Secretary of State, creating a vast amount of controversy for the politician.

While the Internet has been buzzing with this latest news, President Obama claims that he discovered the intel through news reports like the rest of the world.

The President sat down with CBS news to discuss the topic and how it should be handled, exclaiming, “I’m glad that Hillary’s instructed that those emails about official business need to be disclosed. I think that the fact that she is putting them forward will allow us to make sure that people have the information they need.”

Obama urged in the interview, “The policy of my administration is to encourage transparency, which is why my emails, the Blackberry I carry around, all those records are available and archived.”

It was reported that 15,000 pages of documents have been submitted from Clinton’s time as Secretary of State. The emails were archived in her personal email address and not stored in official government databases and servers.

While many people are criticizing Clinton for her actions, President Obama appears to stand by his former Secretary of State and told CBS, “Let me just say that Hillary Clinton is and has been an outstanding public servant; she was a great Secretary of State for me.”

The process of reading and un-archiving these documents will take months for officials, and will definitely alter the upcoming campaign Clinton has planned for the 2016 Presidential race.
