Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine’s armed forces, thinks that Ukraine’s success shouldn’t just mean taking back territory, but also making the Ukrainian army stronger so that Russia will never attack Ukraine again.

This is what Zaluzhnyi said when he talked on the phone with General Christopher Cavoli. He is the head of the U.S. European Command and the NATO Supreme Allied Commander for Europe.

The talk took place the night before a meeting of the Ramstein Defense Contact Group.

Cavoli and Zaluzhnyi talked about how international military aid could help Ukraine and how Ukrainian soldiers could be trained in partner countries.

The head of the Ukrainian military told his American counterpart what was going on the front line.

Zaluzhnyi says that “General Cavoli has a deep understanding of the situation and has made important contributions to speeding up our victory, which is a goal I shared with my conversation partner today.

If Ukraine wins, not only will its lands be freed, but also conditions and armed forces will be put in place that make it impossible for Russia to invade our country in the future.”
