The US state of Oregon is battling the unprecedented wildfires, which have already destroyed at least five towns in the area. Meanwhile, six deaths have also been blamed on the wildfires, with another one in the neighboring state of Washington, which is also fighting the worst blazes.

Californian authorities have said that three people have died in the wildfires that have forced thousands of residents from their homes. Moreover, according to the National Fire Information Center, nine other states in western America have also recorded wildfires.

Kate Brown, the Governor of Oregon, said on Wednesday, “This could be the greatest loss of human life and property due to wildfires in our state’s history.” While addressing the press conference, he further added that the fires are spreading along the coast and in the state’s valley’s, causing evacuations of thousands and destruction.

on Tuesday, Jay Inslee, the Governor of Washington in the last 24 hours more than double acreage had been torched as compared to what had been burned during all of last year in the state.

As California already faces twin challenges, the 30-year mega-drought and the pandemic outbreak, it is experiencing more than two dozen fires, which also include three of the state’s five largest ever. Meanwhile, in north-east of San Francisco, the sheriff of Butte County stated that two people had been found dead at one location and the third elsewhere.

Local media quoted police authorities and said that one of the three dead was a motorist he was trying to escape the Bear fire. Since it began in mid-August, the Bear fire has so far burned more than 200,000 acres.

The latest fire-related fatalities have taken the total death toll to 11 since August. This year, the wildfires have burned nearly 2.3 million acres of the state.
