A Palestinian teen has been killed in a recent clash between the protesters and the Israeli army on the sideline of a protest on the West Bank. The statement from the ministry added that Ali Ayman Nasr Abou Aliya, a 13-year-old boy succumbed to injuries after he was shot live rounds in the stomach on Friday.

The ministry further added that Ali was taken immediately to the hospital in Ramallah, where after a few hours of treatment, he died. Meanwhile, in response to the incident, the spokeswoman said that the Israeli soldiers used what they call a “disperse” mechanism to confront dozens of Palestinian protesters hurling rocks at them and burning tires.

She added, “The reports of the use of live fire during the riot are not true, and claims about several rioters injured and one killed are known.” Aljazeera reported that the thirteen-year-old kid was part of a weekly protest against the illegal settlement in a village near Ramallah.

Moreover, the Palestinian foreign ministry described the shooting as an “ugly” war crime. WAFA, the Palestinian news agency, reported that as many as four other people were also injured in the firing by the Israeli troops.

The village of Mughayyir, where the incident happened, is located near several illegal settlements and has been a prominent site of clashes between the Israeli troops and Palestinian protesters. Earlier, the Israeli state threatened to demolish a school in the nearby region, a move that was also condemned by the European Union, which funded the construction of the school.

Since 1967, the Israeli government has occupied the West Bank. As many as 450,000 Israelis live in the settlements in the territory, which is home to more than 4.8 million Palestinians. Meanwhile, the Palestinians in the West Bank think that the settlements would prove to be an obstacle in the road to peace.
