Poland U-17 World Cup squad depleted after FIFA rule out replacing banished players

Poland’s preparations for the under 17 World Cup in Indonesia have suffered a major setback. Four players were sent home from their training camp due to unsportsmanlike behavior and violation of regulations, as announced by the Polish Football Association (PZPN) on Monday. Unfortunately, Poland cannot replace these players, which is a significant blow to their plans. FIFA’s rules state that a player can only be replaced by someone from the provisional list in the case of serious injury or illness up until 24 hours before the team’s first match. As a result, Poland now only has 14 outfield players for the tournament. They will face Japan on Saturday in a group that also includes Argentina and Senegal.
