Last night the Rockefeller Christmas Tree was lit, an 85 ft tree, decorated with thousands of lights, joined by thousands of festive and loyal New Yorkers as well as home viewers.
Lady Gaga, Tony Bennett, Prince Royal, and Idina Menzel made performances although Mariah Cary was forced to sing live due to her missed pre-taped rehearsal. According to FOX News, Cary was stuck in a meeting with soon to be ex-husband Nick Cannon’s lawyers.
Cary released this statement via her Twitter:
Last night’s situation was beyond my control. I apologize to all that showed up, you know that I would never want to disappoint you.

She was very pitchy and had difficulty hitting many of the notes to her hit “All I Want For Christmas.”
