Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City had a closet well worth envying, but the actress who portrayed her, Sarah Jessica Parker, might just have her beat.
Parker donned a smoke-colored beaded number with a high slit to the New York City Ballet Gala. The dress, of course, is borrowed and not a permanent member of the exclusive club that is SJP’s closet.
Parker fell in love with the Zuhair Murad dress when she saw it on the runway, and according to People, the actress told reporters:
I wrote him a letter, and I asked if he would consider and he was gracious enough to say yes. We talked about it, and I happened to have seen his collection and normally I don’t say this, but I said ‘Is it possible that this particular look is available because I love it so much?’ And he said, ‘That’s my favorite in the collection and I would love it.’ He actually sent it and it arrived over the weekend and I tried it on and it didn’t even need a tailor. That’s how precise and beautiful a designer and specific a designer he is. It’s really cool.
With her hair in a ballet-style bun and donning silver t-strap heels, Sarah Jessica Parker truly looked like a dream. Now if only we can get our hands on that dress.
