The Perfect Skin Care Routine

With the wintery-air drying out your face, it’s important to get into the habit of a vigorous and healthy skin regime. Skin care has always been that uncomfortable topic that everyone is a little unsure of. Your BFF claims this way is the best way to moisturize, but your sister promise you that way is actually better. So what’s a girl supposed to do to keep her skin glowing and healthy? Take a look.

1) Remove makeup

Removing your makeup at the end of each day is pertinent. Period. Nothing good comes from leaving goopy mascara sitting in your pores all night. Use makeup remover wipes and get your eyeballs clean.

2) Moisturize

Moisturizing is key to a healthy regime. Huffington Post suggests a pertinent part of healthy moisturizing is finding the correct formula. Dr. Paul Jarrod Frank, a New York City-based dermatologist suggests that finding your skin type is the key to correctly moisturizing. Huffington Post states, “…examine[ing] how your skin feels at the end of the day. Look to see if your T-zone is dry, oily or somewhat normal.” This can help you to correctly get all the moisture you need, and leave you with glowing skin.

3) Wash your face

Dr. Jeannette Graf, an assistant clinical professor of dermatology at The Mount Sinai Medical Center, suggests washing your face twice a day is the way to go. She urges women to wash “once in the morning when you wake up to remove the dirt and bacteria that gathers on your face while you’re sleeping, then again at night to take off makeup and the grime collected throughout the day.”

4) Make sure to use SPF

The sun’s rays are harsh these days, so be sure to always wear some sort of SPF. Make sure your daily moisturizer has SPF protection in it, and if you know your going to be in the sun for a while, whip out the sunscreen. You want to keep your skin healthy and beautiful for as long as possible.
