A film where there are many villains from Batman’s universe is expected to be a bit dark. Apparently, “Suicide Squad” might be a little too dark that David Ayer, the director, has brought a therapist to set. Just in case the roles become to much for the cast.
Adam Beach, playing Slipnot, said, “David Ayer is about realism. So if your character is tormented, he wants you to torment yourself. He wants the real thing.” However, he probably doesn’t want his cast to be too much in character where they start becoming a little mad themselves.
Beach continued to say,
“We kind of have like a therapist on board if you fall off the wagon and really are villainous. There’s a friend of [Ayer’s] that’s very unique in making sure we have our ground.” He continues, “Us actors explore very fine thin lines going to the dark side and he wants to make sure we finish a movie and don’t disappear somewhere and then don’t show up for work.”
A therapist is a good idea especially with characters like the Joker on hand. The Joker is a complete psychopath and having to tap into that mind is only where the brave tread to. Jared Leto, playing the Joker, is more method, so when preparing for the role he went off on his own.
He sent letters and videos to his fellow co-stars saying that he is working hard, but just can’t be with them. You can expect to see “Suicide Squad” on August 5, 2016.
