Yes, you heard it right! The best TV trailer (arguably the best trailer of Comic-Con) is the trailer that reveals new episodes of the beloved animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars are coming soon.
The Clone Wars has been saved. There are supposed to be 12 new episodes and they will be released on that new Disney streaming service that will hopefully come out in 2019. (Netflix shouldn’t be too worried but don’t be surprised if Disney dethrones Netflix as the must-have streaming service)
Shocking reveals is what Comic-Con is all about and this is definitely the most surprising thing to come out of Comic-Con. Who saw this coming? Not me but then again I wasn’t trying to do predict Comic-Con.
To be honest, this reveal didn’t even need a trailer but the footage does make this reveal even more exciting. If you are a fan of The Clone Wars, then this video can really pull at your heartstrings.
It cleverly begins with a voiceover from everyone’s favorite Clone: Captain Rex. You also get to hear the voice of Commander Cody, Fives, Echo and Heavy. Some of the best characters from The Clone Wars were the Clones themselves.
Another awesome part of this trailer is seeing the unique helmets from different Clone characters. And then these helmets get blown away (from the chaos of the Clone Wars of course).
The Clones are awesome but this trailer couldn’t resist but show that Anakin and Ahsoka will have at least one more confrontation in these series. It will probably be the last time the two interact before Anakin becomes Darth Vader.
Years ago the show was canceled too soon, leaving many storylines unresolved but hopefully, these 12 episodes leave fans of the series very satisfied.
This series is what many people wish the prequel movies were. In my opinion, you don’t even need to watch The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Just watch The Clone Wars animated series and the tragic Revenge of the Sith.
The revival of The Clone Wars also brings must needed excitement for Star Wars fandom. Honestly, Star Wars has been suffering a pop culture downfall a little bit.
Some people didn’t love The Last Jedi (yes the movie has issues but it’s still enjoyable). Many people were disappointed with Solo.
This revival though puts Star Wars back in a positive light (at least among its most devoted fans). The people who only watch the movies might still be a feeling a little salty about Star Wars.
I also have a confession. Of course, I didn’t see every single TV trailer from Comic-Con. I haven’t even seen the Riverdale season 3 trailer (Cut me some slack, I have two episodes left to watch in season two).
However, from the TV trailers I did watch, this has me the most excited. There is a new hope for Star Wars and it’s The Clone Wars.
