President Donald Trump said that a man was shot outside the White House on Monday as he was abruptly led out of the media briefing by a secret service agent.

However, he told the new reporters that everything was under control.

During his remarks to the reporters, a member of the security had walked on the stage and whispered in Trump’s ear. As he left the briefing room, he said “oh” and “what’s happened”. During the incident, the White House was put under lockdown.

Trump was interrupted mid-sentence by a security officer when he later returned nearly after nine minutes. He told the news reporters that the secret service had shot the armed individual. He added that someone was also taken to the hospital.

Trump praised the response of the US Secret Service and acknowledged that it was an extraordinary situation. Meanwhile, the USSS took to twitter and said that it could confirm that someone had been taken to the hospital after police-involved shooting at Pennsylvania and 17th street.

Later, it said that an officer, along with a male individual, were both transported to the hospital. The USSS further added that at no time during the incident was the White House building breached or were any guards in danger.

Trump said that he did not know whether the armed guy had any ill intentions towards him. He added that it might not have had anything to do with him. In response to a question by a reporter that if he as rattled by the incident, he said, do I look rattled?

The Republican President told the reporters that the secret service agents escorted him to the oval office outside the briefing room. Steve Mnuchin, the US Secretary of Treasury, was also led out of the media briefing along with Budget Director Russ Vought.
