Trump, Roseanne and Other TV Networks Have Responded to ABC’s Cancellation

Roseanne Barr and many others have finally responded to the cancellation of the hit comedy show Roseanne.

Barr who tweeted yesterday that she was done with Twitter, has made over 100 posts on her account today, according to CNN.

She has also apologized for her tweet yesterday that discriminated against Valerie Jarrett, an African American and Jewish woman who was an advisor to former president Barack Obama. Despite the apology, today Barr posted side-to-side photos of Jarrett and an ape.

Something that Barr tweeted about multiple times was that she was on the medication Ambien (a drug that combats insomnia) when she made the infamous tweet about Jarrett. Though she claims that she is not using Ambien as an excuse.

Barr also told her fans to not defend her anymore for she knows that she made a mistake that she wishes she didn’t. Yet in a deleted tweet she said that she will defend herself, communicate with her followers and for others to go away if they don’t like it. Barr will grieve the way she wants, according to her tweets.

Despite the success of the revival for Roseanne (which had a finale viewed by over 10 million viewers), Barr shared a tweet that said, “they brought the show back so they could inevitably cancel the show when she said something they didn’t like.”

However, in the past, Barr has made tweets about conspiracies that might have potentially worried and kept ABC alert on her behavior. Some believe this wasn’t a one strike punishment for Barr but that the infamous tweet was a boiling point. ABC’s decision was not just fueled by the one tweet but many other tweets as well.

Meanwhile, a fan of the show’s success, President Donald Trump tweeted that ABC has never apologized for the comments made about him on the network. Trump didn’t say anything about Barr’s tweet.

Also, other TV networks such as Hulu, CMT, and TV Land is removing Roseanne from their streaming libraries. ABC will also not promote Roseanne for the 2018 Emmys.

The cancellation and removal of Roseanne is something that has yet to be seen in Hollywood. What do the results of Barr’s behavior mean for successful artists who usually may not be criticized for their actions?

About Pseudonym Smynoduesp

I am supposed to describe who I am without revealing too much in less than 100 words. In fact even less than that now! It is a ridiculous task, but I guess the purpose of this box is not for you all to really get to know me, but for you to want to get to know me and of course read my material. Hope this is enough! I am a confident person who loves movies, TV shows, music and books. I am someone that wants to influence the entire world and this is the beginning.
